9. Prince Of Persia 2
If you thought the rebooted Prince Of Persia games were hard, try playing the originals! The classic games were exceptionally difficult, with the prince able to die in a myriad of creative and gruesome ways, from falling into lava pits to being impaled on spiked walls. Some of the game's levels even start with the hero falling in mid-air, forcing the player to react extremely quickly in order to avoid becoming a prince pancake.
The second game in the series, Prince Of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame, begins with the prince having to battle his way out of a palace. From the first moment we take control of the hero, we have to battle one of the guards, and if you're not quick on your feet, you'll be hacked to pieces in a matter of seconds.
Interestingly, if you choose to go right rather than left at the start, you'll also be given a surprise game over as the prince is killed by a group of off-screen enemies. In short, players had to be very reactive to survive the opening moments of this cult classic.
