10 Video Games That KNEW You'd Try To Cheat

7. Metal Fatigue - Cheating Like A Slimy Rat

Batman Arkham Asylum
Nightdive Studios/TalonSoft

The entries we've discussed so far have all centred around single-player games, but Metal Fatigue's funny little knockback against cheaters is even possible to witness in multiplayer mode, shaming you in front of every other player in the match.

Released in 2000 for the PC, this futuristic real-time strategy title has you building bases, gathering resources, and battling your opponents using giant Pacific Rim-style mechs called Combots. To do all of this, you'll need a healthy stack of MetaJoules - one of those aforementioned resources - which must be collected while playing.

Alternatively, you can just use a cheat code to get a bunch for free.

Choose to do things this way, and the game will send a message to the other players in the lobby stating that you're "cheating like a slimy rat". Your player ID will be included in the message too, so everyone will know it's you. How embarrassing.
