10 Video Games That Launched In Unacceptable Condition
2. Assassin's Creed Unity
If you were one of the poor souls unlucky enough to have bought Assassin's Creed Unity at release, then you might recall some of its issues.
NPCs without faces, shockingly low frame rates, broken co-op and players falling through the ground were just a few of the issues that players reported soon after the game's release.
It was on players to flag these problems because Ubisoft had put review embargoes in place for 12 hours after launch. Yes, really.
The launch was so poorly received that Ubisoft offered a free game on Uplay by way of an apology to anyone who had purchased Assassin's Creed Unity's DLC, which seems like a good-natured gesture, right?
Actually, no. Downloading your free game meant agreeing to some fine print which made you forgo the right to ever sue Ubisoft over Unity.
The underhanded tactics at play here indicate that Ubisoft knew they were releasing an unfinished mess, and simply didn't care. Makes it sting all the more when all you wanted to do was run around on some rooftops.
