10 Video Games That Made You PAY EXTRA For The Ending

8. Assassin's Creed II: Revelations

Kingdom hearts 3
Ubisoft

Assassin's Creed II: Brotherhood ended with Desmond getting mind controlled by Juno and being forced to stab Lucy to death, then he collapsed into a coma and was put into the animus as a weird form of life support. During that time he continues the escapades of Ezio Auditore da Firenze in the sequel, Revelations.

Revelations had many, well, revelations as one might guess. These included the fact that Ezio infiltrated Altair's final resting place and received a prophecy intended for Desmond, it also included the revelation that Lucy was secretly an actual Templar. But you would only get that revelation if you played through the Lost Archive DLC.

If you didn't choose to get The Lost Archive, or like me it glitched out and failed to show you the cinematic revealing Lucy's betrayal, then you were certainly quite surprised in Assassin's Creed III when everyone is mentioning how Lucy was a Templar. Like...when did we learn this? Oh, right, we didn't - not unless we shelled out the extra cash for a broken set of platforming levels. Solid work Ubisoft, you money-grubbing sods.
