8. Five Bosses In A Row - Viewtiful Joe
Viewtiful Joe was a criminally underrated beat 'em up for the Gamecube. Due to its beautiful cel-shaded graphics, film-oriented mechanics, and cheeky humour, this side-scroller has become one of Capcom's most beloved series.
But no matter how much you adore Viewtiful Joe, nobody can defend The Magnificent Five level. In this section, you have to re-fight the previous four bosses before facing a new foe called Fire Leo.
Now, since you've tangled with this lot before, you will be well-acquainted with their strategies. Since you should be equipped with plenty of upgrades, you'll assume this Boss Rush will be a walk in the park
Here's the problem: There are no save points in this level. If any member of this quintet kills you, you have to start from the beginning.
Even if you reach Fire Leo, you'll probably have no lives, meaning you only have one shot at beating him. But because this infernal lion is so fast and strong, it's likely he'll defeat you before you figure out how to hit him.
Capcom received so much criticism for this oversight, they took it onboard for the sequel, allowing the player to save in-between each bout during the obligatory Boss Rush section.
