10 Video Games That Must Be Played On The Hardest Difficulty

8. Dead Space - Impossible Mode

The Last Of Us
EA

For braving and surviving all of its terrifying horrors, Dead Space rewards you with Impossible mode. An added difficulty which will have you screaming in space even more with no one to hear. Thanks?

Like most Hardcore difficulties, Impossible means less ammo, credits and items, along with enemies who are tougher and more resilient. Yet, with Necromorphs having glowing limbs that you can blast away to cause them to fumble, surely less ammo shouldn’t be too much of an issue? Wrong.

To ensure you waste as little ammo as possible, you have to be extremely precise with all your attacks. Sadly, this is much easier said than done. In addition to always sprinting at you, a method of madness which never fails in making your heart feel like it’s about to stop, the Necromorphs sidestep your shots, meaning you’ll often be left swinging your fists hopelessly as they stab you with their limbs and turn your neck into a fountain of blood.

With upgraded armour and weapons, it is possible to return to space and defeat the Marker. However, only the best engineers can do the impossible.
