10 Video Games That Must Be Played On The Hardest Difficulty
6. The Last Of Us - Grounded Difficulty

The Last Of Us is one of the greatest games of all time. Its story is gripping, you care about all of its characters and its visuals are still top notch. But, while gameplay is more than sound on any difficulty, playing it on Grounded adds an extra sense of realism that really puts you in the smelly and torn shoes of both Joel and Ellie.
Ammo is far more scarce, Joel doesn’t have the superpower of being able to hear where all enemies are through the thickest walls and there is no HUD, meaning you have to scrutinise Joel’s posture to know when best to heal. If he’s grunting and holding his ribs, it’s probably best to stop being stingy and use a medkit.
This makes all the stealth sections super tense, especially when there are swarms of aggressive men and women on both upper and lower floors who have insane hearing and peripheral vision. Getting caught in scraps is the worst, and you’ll find yourself immediately thanking Ellie when she helps you in combat after deciding to stop being a lazy sidekick, gratitude which strengthens your bond with her through both the story and gameplay.
If you have a fully loaded clip with all your guns, then you are not playing The Last Of Us on Grounded difficulty. And, if you’re not doing it on Grounded, you’re simply not doing it right at all.
