10 Video Games That Only Got Started At The End
9. Doomguy FINALLY Goes To Hell - Doom 3
Doom 3 is the most divisive mainline entry into the series for many reasons, from its major tonal and aesthetic changes to the fact that the player spends the overwhelming majority of the game in anywhere but Hell.
Roughly the first three-quarters of the game take place entirely on Mars - primarily a series of tediously repetitive industrial environments - and it's not until the later stages that Doomguy is finally flung through a portal to Hell.
While you sadly don't spend the rest of the game in Hell, it does provide a much needed change of scenery while being the closest Doom 3 ever gets to evoking the classic Doom vibe. It's just a shame that players had to tough it out through 7-8 hours of mediocrity to get there.
