10 Video Games That Only Make Sense If You Bought The DLC
1. Asura's Wrath - The Entire Ending
One of the most infamous games ever for abusing its post-release DLC, the entire ending for Asura's Wrath was saved for future expansions rather than being included in the title itself.
The base release finishes without providing any real narrative closure or resolution after a final boss battle, and Capcom expected you to pay up extra to access the proper climax to the story.
The original narrative ends on an ambiguous note, while the DLC reveals that the title's main villain was actually a spider that popped up multiple times throughout the episodic journey, explaining that it was this mythic figure who was pulling the strings behind the scenes. The final chapters released later see you taking this guy down for good, wrapping up the threads that were left dangling in the original finale.
All of this would be lost on you if you didn't pick up the additional episodes though, and you'd have no idea whether you actually accomplished anything on your journey throughout the game, and be none the wiser as to whether the weird golden spider that kept popping up was even real or not.
