10 Video Games That Prove 2010 Was The Best Year Ever
1. Mass Effect 2
2010 had so many great games that literally any on this list will have legions of fans screaming it should be top. Heck, some will have read the intro and decided nothing could beat Starcraft II anyway.
But Mass Effect 2 is the jewel in 2010’s crown. The definitive action RPG, it had great shooting mechanics, a superb cast backed by brilliant voice actors and some truly emotional moments, especially within the sidequests.
People who’ve never played it might look at the basic plot of ‘recruit, make loyal, final mission’ and dismiss it as bare bones, but those who’ve stood on the deck of the Normandy know better. The loyalty missions are individually crafted stories, many of which could support a fully fledged game on their own. Who wouldn’t want an entire game dedicated to intricate Quarian legal debates, or shooting huge dirt worms in the face on Tuchanka?
The Suicude Mission is what just tips it over the edge though. If you make decisions wrong, either during it or throughout the game, some of your crew will die. Permanently. They don’t come back for the sequel either; you have to live with Tali’s silhouette in your selection screen throughout Mass Effect 3.
