10 Video Games That Released At The WORST Possible Time

Beyond: Two Souls might still have sold three million copies, but it was released in the grey area between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

Arriving in October 2013, it would have been hard for gamers to justify buying more games for their PlayStation 3 with the PlayStation 4 coming out in less than a month.

This wouldn’t have been the same situation in the Summer, with exclusives such as The Last Of Us or the 360’s State Of Decay. Instead, Beyond released at the very end of the console generation.

This is where it gets confusing. You would once again assume that, if your game was releasing close to the very beginning of a console’s launch, you’d have two versions ready, one for the PS3 and one for the PS4.

Yet, that wasn’t the case with Beyond: Two Souls. Borderlands managed ports in six months and Grand Theft Auto V a year later. Quantic Dream seemingly failed to capitalise on this opportunity, taking over two years to release ports of both Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain.
