10 Video Games That Reused Bosses (And Made Them BETTER)

4. Gogandantess (Onimusha 2)

Halo reach
Capcom

Gogandantess is the self-proclaimed “Greatest Swordsman of all the Demons” and is certainly a fearsome opponent - if only because he is surrounded by an impenetrable shield. That’s right, he’s not really all that strong compared to other bosses in the game, but not only is Jubei, the hero of the game, unable to wound him in any way, shape, or form - attacking him will often stumble you allowing the demon to finish you off easily.

It isn’t until the third time you fight him, after acquiring a special flute, that he becomes a really interesting foe. Your first two battles are basically the same idea - fight him, learn you can’t win, hold out until the fight ends or you can run away.

But with his shield down, you can finally actually do damage. He’s a decent enough boss in his own right, but just finally getting a real fight with the so-called greatest swordsman of your foes is a treat. For what it’s worth, Gogandantess seems a fairly noble chap, as well...except for that whole impenetrable forcefield thing.
