As a text adventure crafted way back in 1976, Colossal Cave Adventure was one of the first games to really manage to reward players for being crazy fools. It was sort of DnD-esque adventure through a cave, where the objective was to gather as much treasure as you could and escape without losing all your lives to the enemies rife within the area.

It also was part of paving the way for another trend in text-based adventures; being snarky. The game is entirely written with an often sarcastic, always entertaining tone, that tends to clue you in that some of your puzzle solutions are going to be a little wild.

But you may not realise how wild until you're tasked with killing a dragon that comes into your path. When you type to kill the dragon, the game will, seemingly sarcastically, ask if you'd like to kill it with your bare hands.

After presumably dying by trying to do other things, you'll stumble upon the right answer to this question: "YES". As it turns out, you can totally mangle a giant malevolent lizard with your own mitts, despite the fact that this is probably the last answer anyone would believe works.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
