10 Video Games That Should Be Ashamed Of Themselves
3. Cyberpunk 2077
How do you kill of your good guy developer image overnight? Well, you release Cyberpunk 2077 in the state it was in.
Before the Cyberpunk release, CD Projekt Red were flying high. Recipients of loads of accolades from critics and gamers alike for the Witcher 3, they were the good guys of the industry, doing it for the gamers.
Then came along Cyberpunk. Clearly not ready for full release even after multiple delays, the game was in a sorry state from the very start. Weird glitches, lockups and countless bugs plagued the title from the very start, and for those playing on base Xboxes and PS4's from last gen, the whole thing was nigh-on unplayable.
This was a game that clearly should have been delayed even further and made purely for next-gen consoles and PCs which could run it well. It got so bad in the wake of its release, that CD Projekt, in an unprecedented move, negotiated with digital store fronts to offer refunds for their terrible product.
It's such a shame, as with further time for more polish and a more sensible release on better hardware, Cyberpunk 2077 could have been an exceptional game. Instead it just remains mired in controversy, and many people have moved on altogether despite a planned next-gen patch next year.
