10 Video Games That Should Be Ashamed Of Themselves
2. UDraw
Back in the heyday of the Wii, weird and wonderful gaming peripherals were all the rage. Why not add an entirely pointless tennis racket head or a golf club to your Wiimote, just coz?
At THQ, somebody had the bright idea to jump on the bandwagon and unleashed UDraw upon the world.
Essentially a gaming graphics tablet, the UDraw peripheral and associated games allowed players to free-draw on a tablet using a special pressure-sensitive pen.
While the technology was sound, the actual desire for use of the UDraw and the amount of peripherals THQ actually produced was ultimately catastrophic for the company.
In total, a whopping 1.4 million unsold UDraw units remained stuck on store shelves. That led to approximately a $100 million loss for THQ, and former president Jason Rubin has went on record stating that the UDraw project was one of the biggest causes of THQ going bust and having to shut up shop.
In the case, UDraw and its associated game, UDraw Studio: Instant Artist should be ashamed for forcing one of the world's biggest videogame companies to have to close its doors. We bet whoever had the bright idea to make this one wishes they could turn back time now!
