Bioshock is a dystopian first person shooter released in 2007 that took shooting games to the next level thanks to some incredible gameplay and one hell of an atmospheric setting. The game revolves around Jack, whose airplane crashes in the ocean in 1960, which then leads him to the underwater city of Rapture. BioShock includes elements of role-playing in terms of levelling up your character, alongside incorporating survival horror tropes to top it all off. If this game was made into a film it would be a visual knockout thanks to its incredible opening shot alone, as from the impressive exterior of Rapture's underwater aesthetic to the claustrophobic damp corridors within, the gore factor that ties it all together through spine-chilling action scenes with screeching ghouls sets it apart from the rest.
