10 Video Games That Should Have Started 10 Minutes Later

6. Kingdom Hearts II

skyrim intro
Disney

Gamers were confused when they started Kingdom Hearts II since the first level has you taking control of Roxas - a character with seemingly no connection to the previous game.

It's common knowledge that Kingdom Hearts was developed by SquareEnix, who are best-known for making Final Fantasy. Since the FF games aren't usually connected, one might assume Kingdom Hearts II is doing something similar, having no ties to its predecessor.

But no. Immediately after the Roxas section, you take control of Sora, who serves as the protagonist, just like the previous game. Upon completing the first level, you also discover Roxas isn't real, making his section feel all the more pointless.

You could forgive this decision if Roxas was compelling as a character or you got to do some cool stuff in the opening. But that is not the case. This prologue feels so unrelated to the rest of the story, it's baffling why it was included (Also, why are all the NPCs eating sea salt ice cream?).

Kingdom Hearts II is a fantastic game but it would've been better if this section was nixed.
