10 Video Games That Were Pulled From Digital Store Shelves (And Why)

4. 1000 Top Rated

Deadpool Game Peace
Top Rated

There are lots of games on the PlayStation Store that allow you to earn some quick and easy trophies (especially on PS3, with titles like Linger In Shadows) and of course, these games are extremely popular in trophy hunting circles.

So, when a game that claimed to have one of the easiest platinums ever was made available to purchase via the PSN, it drew quite a bit of attention to itself.

That game was called 1000 Top Rated, and it made its way to the PlayStation Store in summer 2017. The game had players completing a series of incredibly easy tile puzzles, and the platinum could be obtained in less than half an hour. Sounds terrific if you like collecting trophies, but on the downside... it wasn't on sale for very long.

Because the game was essentially selling trophies, Sony intervened and pulled it from their store, asking the developer to change the name of the game, and remove all mentions of trophies from its product description.

1000 Top Rated then returned to the PlayStation Store with a brand-new name - Slyde - and a different description, but crucially, its easy platinum trophy remained intact.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
