10 Video Games That Were Pulled From Digital Store Shelves (And Why)

3. Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game

A truly underrated side-scrolling beat 'em up from publisher Ubisoft, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game was released alongside the Scott Pilgrim movie in August 2010.

Like its big-screen cousin, the game enjoyed a positive reception from critics and was well-regarded by fans, but just like DuckTales Remastered, disaster struck when it was abruptly removed from digital storefronts several years after its release.

In December 2014, disappointed players found that Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game was no longer available for purchase on the Xbox 360 or PS3 stores, a problem that, once again, was attributed to some of those pesky licensing issues.

For years, the ultimate fate of the game remained in limbo, until it made a triumphant return in September 2020 with the announcement of The Complete Edition - a collection of the original game, plus its DLC - which is due for release in January 2021.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
