10 Video Games That Were Utter Embarrassments For Their Franchises

7. Banjo-Kazooie Nuts And Bolts

Bomberman Act Zero

Banjo and Kazooie ruled the Nintendo 64 back in the day.

Their two platformers rivaled the red plumber on levels of quality. Rare as a whole took the system by storm with plenty of classic games, but with the next generation came new chances as the studio was picked up by Microsoft and the bear and bird were put on hold for a few years. Finally, in 2008, these platforming titans hit back with a… racing game?”

On paper, this doesn't seem like a bad idea with the likes of Mario and Crash having really good racing games, but it didn't feel like a spin-off or something new. It states players are bored of platformers and just like to "mindlessly shoot stuff" which felt like an insult to the fans. Keep in mind people had been waiting for a follow up to the last game and after waiting almost 8 years this was what they got.

However, this game isn't terrible mechanically. The car building idea was interesting and you could make some fun designs. It's just with all this it felt kind of soulless and it didn't have any love put into it. Whereas the other two are still widely talked about today, Nuts and Bolts is very easily forgotten by most.
