10 Video Games That Were Utter Embarrassments For Their Franchises

When you so much as mention survival horror your mind snaps straight to Resident Evil. The series practically invented the genre and has some of the scariest moments and monsters in all of gaming. Despite its popularity, the series has had its highs and lows. Now moving into an online shooter, that was definitely a low point.

Capcom was getting hard into the electronic sports environment with its fighting games and wanted to try and expand that into a game like Counter-Strike or Call of Duty. Then, for some strange reason, they thought Resident Evil was the way to go, which brings us this confusing muddle of a shooter. Bizarre controls and gameplay structure that made no sense was already enough to put this in the ground.

Yet the glitches and a lack of a player base at launch didn't help it either. That, and very limited inclusion of monsters, weapons, and characters made most people give this game a hard pass.

This massive failure did send a shock to the developers and ever since they’ve gone back to remaking older titles in the newer gameplay styles with the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes and now the franchise seems to be back on track with Village coming out on the next-generation systems.

This game should just stay dead.
