10 Video Games That Weren't As Good As You Remember

There was once a video game released on the NES, called Super Mario World. You may have heard of it. It became so successful, it made an inexplicable star out of the game's overweight, slightly Italian stereotyped little hero. Mario would become the face of Nintendo and now, Sega had mascot envy and wanted to replicate on the Master System console, their rival to the NES.

Sonic was nothing more than a glint in the hedgehog milkman's eye at this time and so, Alex Kidd was born. A Mario-esque character, except less like a plumber and more like a monkey.

The series of Alex Kidd games that were subsequently released were pretty much nothing more than sub-standard Mario clones. They never stood the test of time against the moustached Ninty legend and are largely forgotten today. Although, one of them did offer a great version of 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' which says a lot about the weight of Alex Kidd's gaming legacy.
