10 Video Games That Weren't As Good As You Remember

2. Ridge Racer

Another Playstation launch title, which took the ethos that "less is more" and charged you around £50 for it. Ridge Racer was an arcade classic racer and it made obvious sense for Namco to port it to Sony's all-singing and all-dancing new console. And in fairness, it was an alright conversion.

Offering a truly arcade style racing experience in your own home. Wonderful. Except there was one glaring problem - it had one track. One measly track. And no, we don't count mirrored versions of a track, as a new track, because it's not another track. It's still the same track, but going in a different direction.

Now, as fun as playing Ridge Racer was for a short time, the intense lack of replay value meant it never quite managed to be anything more than a shiny, shiny toy that distracted you for 10 minutes, before sitting at the bottom of your pile of games for the rest of all time.
