Zombies have been tackled a few times now in VR, Arizona Sunshine being the most prominent example, but it’s not often they’re done well like with Saints and Sinners.

Set within the Walking Dead universe, it released back in January at the hands of Skydance Interactive to little initial fanfare but became a big hit upon release.

Playing a nameless protagonist, you see yourself coming to the now-decimated city of New Orleans, only to discover the human survivors have factionalised and are now at war with each other.

Fans of the franchise are within their rights to be sceptical of a new FPS game after Survival Instinct and Overkill’s Walking Dead game were widely criticised, but Saints and Sinners is a clear break from these.

Providing a greater variety of combat options and gameplay design that keeps you on your toes, it’s an excellent example of how VR can tackle action-horror games.
