10 Video Games That Totally Nailed Their Final Levels

10. Pokemon Red/Blue

The journey to be crowned Pokemon Master is long and arduous. Having conquered the eight Gym Leaders, a Pokemon Trainer then has to make his way through Victory Road to face off against the final challenge - the Elite Four, housed in the impressive Indigo Plateau. Victory Road alone is a tough task. It requires most of the HM Moves the player has acquired throughout the game and there's even a super-tough legendary bird hiding out somewhere in the cavern. Of course, after Victory Road comes the real final test. The challenge that the Elite Four pose is unlike anything the player has faced before; the Trainer must face four high level Pokemon Masters with little time to rest in between. No rushing to the Pokemon Center to heal up here; only the items the player brought with them can be used. This tough task is the perfect set-up to turning a player into a Pokemon Master. Conquering four of the toughest Trainers in the game in a row feels like an uphill struggle but after many attempts and a bit of grinding, it's an immensely satisfying achievement. Naturally, there's one final task lying in wait behind them, but the Elite Four represent the biggest trial Pokemon has to offer; to have come so far in a journey but still have one monumental obstacle to overcome is a strangely exciting feeling.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
