10 Video Games With Utterly Ludicrous Premises You Won’t Believe They Released

7. Bible Adventures

Back in 1991, religion started to get with the trend when they released the aptly-titled Bible Adventures, a collection of three games that let the player experience the joys of the Old Testament, merrily scattered with passages from the Bible. Extremely similar in appearance to Super Mario Bros 2., the three adventures - Noah's Ark, Baby Moses and David and Goliath - play out in standard retro sidescrolly action. If you were an early adopter, you could play Bible Adventures for the first time on the NES, while those who wanted to re-experience the joys of adventures through the Bible could once again dabble with them in 1995, when it was released for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis. The best part about Bible Adventures is not the concept itself, but rather the way the games presented it. For example in Noah's Ark, players can regenerate health by reading passages from the Bible, but Noah is a lunatic who throws barrels at unsuspecting animals before dragging them off to his ark. In Moses, you carry around a baby Moses who you can actually throw at things, which isn't approved by parenting agencies everywhere. But hey, if you want a dabble of religion mingled with mindless violence, why not check out Bible Adventures?
