7. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Aliens: Colonial Marines was a buggy travesty and yet, sold over a million copies. E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial also sold over a million, despite being infamously terrible. In these instances, it's obvious the customers purchased these abominations, simply because they were based on recognised film properties.

Even though it's common knowledge that games based on films rarely do well, you can guarantee gamers will come out in droves to buy Gun Interactive's Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

This game, which is based on Tope Hooper's classic 1974 slasher of the same name, is expected to follow the same formula as the 2017 survival horror, Friday the 13th: The Game.

And that's not an assumption. Not only do both games have the same set-up, they were developed by the same company.

Sadly, that's not a good sign. Not only was Friday the 13th shredded by critics for its lopsided gameplay and lack of content, Gun Interactive have never released a good game. Considering their best title, Layers of Fear 2, only has a MetaCritic score of 72%, there's no reason why The Texas Chainsaw Massacre should turn out any better.
