9. Game Fixed At No Extra Cost - WWF: No Mercy

No Mercy

Back in the late 1990s, AKI Corporation (now known as syn Sophia) managed to corner the wrestling gaming market almost immediately after being founded. Although there were other wrestling titles like WWF Warzone and WWF Attitude at the time, they couldn't match their competitor in quality or sales.

In 2000, AKI outdid themselves yet again with WWF No Mercy, which is considered by many as the pinnacle of wrestling games. Because of the easily approachable controls, immense roster, smooth gameplay, inventive story mode, and incredible character creation mode, No Mercy was considered pretty much perfect.

At least, it would've been, if it wasn't for a programming issue that wiped the memory card at random intervals. This was frustrating, since it took hours to unlock certain wrestlers and complete the various story campaigns. There's nothing worse than spending 10 hours to play as iconic referee, Earl Hebner, only for the game to erase itself five minutes later.

Because this was back in the days of cartridges, a simple patch was impossible. However, the furore was so fierce, the developers had no choice but to give everyone who purchased WWF No Mercy a glitch-free version at no extra cost.
