10 Video Games Where The Villain Had Better Abilities
8. The Marauder - Doom Eternal
Say it with us loudly and proudly - screw the Marauders in Doom Eternal.
The generally terrific FPS sequel is marred by the presence of one villain so damn adept at answering your attacks it actually becomes a frustrating chore to take them on.
The Marauders are basically a demonic mirror image of the player, albeit kitted out with a few nifty upgrades - namely an Argent Energy shield which can even block a direct hit from a freakin' BFG, and the ability to summon a wolf to attack you.
On top of this, their vulnerability window is freakishly, maddeningly small, giving you barely any time to mount much of an offense, but a hell of a lot of time to get your ass thoroughly kicked.
It's a brilliant combination of skills for a combatant to have, though, enough that it's a damn shame the player isn't able to get that tasty shield or those summonable wolves for themselves, right?
