10 Video Games Where YOU Die At The End
9. L.A. Noire
L.A. Noire is a weird game, and definitely something of an acquired taste.
Built in the GTA mould, Rockstar put the player in the highly polished shoes of war hero turned 'Cop Cole Phelps as he works his way up the ranks of the L.A.P.D.
Lauded at launch for its interrogation scenes utilising cutting edge motion capture technology, Phelps could go good cop/bad cop on suspects in order to piece together a narrative and solve the case.
Promotions followed, and while secretive about his private life and protective of his wartime experiences, Phelps became a high-flying detective.
Ultimately brought low by a shockingly out of place extra-marital affair and subsequent demotion to the Arson squad, Phelps' story is an intriguing one to say the least.
His final mission involved a confrontation with former military ally Ira Hogeboom who, driven mad by horrific wartime experiences, has become a murderous fire starter (a twisted fire starter... No?).
Forced into a quickly flooding sewer, Phelps ultimately decides to, in the ever decreasing window of time in which to make an escape, save his partner rather than himself and is swept away to his watery grave.
Phelps ever truly felt he'd earned his military accolades, but arguably did in death.
