10 Video Games Where You Should IGNORE The Main Story
2. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher series has gone from strength to strength recently. The success of CD Projekt Red's Witcher 3: Wild Hunt led to revived interest in the game's predecessors, which in turn spawned a Netflix adaptation. Since then, the sales of the book series that the franchise is based on have skyrocketed. Not bad for a franchise that was pretty obscure until a few years ago.
The Witcher 3's charm lies in it's unique world. There's a rich and exciting lore, although the game refuses to hold the player's hand while exploring it. There are so many tiny details to notice that it's easy enough just to get lost in reading the bestiary, let alone exploring the game's world.
Whether you were taking on contracts to hunt monsters, racing horses, engaging in fist fights, or playing round after round of Gwent (which has since spawned its very own game), players showed no sense of urgency in following the game's main story.
