10 Video Games Where You Should IGNORE The Main Story
5. Red Dead Redemption
Red Dead Redemption was released in 2010, and it opened the world's eyes to the full video game potential of the Wild West.
Taking on the role of John Marston, we were forced to hunt down the remaining members of our old gang in order to rescue our captive family. Pretty enthralling Western fare, right?
Well, yes, except the game had so very much more to offer than just that bit of story. There were side missions, races, crimes to commit or citizens in distress to save, animals to hunt and gambling to be undertaken. There was also the Undead Nightmare DLC, in which Marston finds himself attempting to survive a zombie apocalypse.
John also has a run in with a man who appears to be death given form, who delivers some now famous foreshadowing of the game's ending.
Red Dead Redemption has since been given a prequel, which boasts an enormous world to explore with its own captivating story, but the original's main story will forever be overshadowed by its wealth of additional content.
