2014's Murdered: Soul Suspect may not be a great game, but it sure does open with an enticing hook, as our police officer protagonist Ronan O'Connor gets thrown out of a window by a serial killer known as the Bell Killer.

Upon attempting to get up, Ronan discovers that he's dying, and to add insult to mortal injury, he has to watch helplessly as the killer fires a few bullets into his body for good measure. Gnarly.

The rest of the game sees the player trying to identify Ronan's killer so that he can wrap up his evidently unfinished business and graduate to the afterlife where his late wife Julia - who was also murdered, by the way - is waiting.

Again, not a great or even particularly good game sadly, despite quite the appealing concept of a detective story centered around unmasking your own killer.
