The official trailer for the Nintendo Switch didn't just highlight the convenience of being a handheld system; it also proved the company was embracing third-party ports of the biggest games (in terms of success and literal size). Case in point, the first port revealed for the system was the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Not only is this a much maturer game than many Nintendo fans are used to, fans were concerned Bethesda's gargantuan open world wouldn't be able to run effectively on a low-powered system.

Thankfully, the Switch port refused to sacrifice a gram of quality. It works so smoothly in the dock or in handheld mode, it feels like Skyrim was always designed for the console.

The Joy-Cons fit perfectly with the game's mechanics, making it more enjoyable to play than on any other system. Firing a bow, swinging a blade, or conjuring a spell with a Joy-Con feels so right, it's hard to go back to the controls for the PS4 or Xbox One.

Showing this port during the Switch's big reveal was a smart move because it proved the system could handle the BIGGEST games without compromising the gameplay.
