10 Video Games Whose BEST Versions Are On Switch
8. Alien: Isolation
After Alien: Colonial Marines was met with scathing reviews, gamers were reasonably skeptical upon the announcement of 2014's Alien: Isolation, where you play as Amanda, the daughter of Ellen Ripley. Thankfully, this entry masterfully recreates the atmosphere of Ridley Scott's film and wasn't bogged down by braindead AI. Thanks to its top-notch graphics, stellar mechanics, and excellent level design, Isolation was a massive success on the PS3, PS4, and Xbox One.
When Nintendo announced a port for the Switch in 2019, it sounded like the company was half a decade late to the party. However, Feral Interactive found a way to make the Switch port run smoother than any other version. Instead of a straight port, the flickering shadows were tweaked and the visual sharpness was upscaled to elevate the atmosphere and maximise the horror.
Just to show off, Nintendo also added a HD rumble feature and gyroscopic aiming. The frame rate does drop occasionally in handheld mode, which is why Alien: Isolation isn't higher on this list but the Switch version still feels like the definitive port of the game.
