10 Video Games That Will Be Released Annually Until The End Of Time

8. Angry Birds

Mobile gaming has grown immensely in size, turning everyday citizens into gaming machines. One of the games at the forefront of this mobile revolution was Angry Birds - with over two billion downloads, it's the biggest series in mobile gaming by some distance. The simple but addictive nature of the original game won people over immediately; flinging birds with slingshots is frowned upon in real-life but in the virtual world, it's pure, unadulterated fun. It's a series that appeals to kids too and that's why it's unlikely to go away anytime soon. Rovio has moved away from the original puzzle format of the series (there's even a role-playing game) and the money continues to roll in. The most recent version of Angry Birds is Transformers themed, proving that just about any franchise can get the Angry treatment; the market might be reaching saturation point for Angry Birds games but that's unlikely to stop Rovio when they're still proving to be popular. Angry Birds is still great for short, sharp bursts of fun but longer sessions highlight just how tired the formula is now - it's great entertainment for kids but there's very little to keep the older (and more cynical) among us interested for more than five minutes nowadays.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
