10 Video Games With "That One Level" Everyone Hates
6. Act III - Diablo II
Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo II is considered one of the best games ever made by the once-legendary developer. It's so fondly remembered for its highs that it's easy to forget its lows, such as the entirety of Act III.
Act III takes place in a jungle, and much like the jungle in real life, it sucks. Except replace the bugs and humidity with a confusing maze of huge areas that all look identical and many of the game's most annoying enemies all in once place.
For some reason, Act III is built differently from other acts. Diablo II's maps are semi-randomized, but mostly follow a similar structure: linear progression with an occasional optional offshoot area. Act III eschews this. Sometimes the structure is similar to previous acts; sometimes its a maze. Good luck.
Not helping is the jungle environment. While not as bad in the remake, the muddy textures of the original see you navigating an endless, crowded mess of brown and green. The only thing making it playable is the map overlay.
When you throw in the tiny, fast Fetish enemies constantly running circles around you and spamming fire damage, Act IV - HELL ITSELF - is downright pleasant in comparison.
