10 Video Games With Permadeath That Will Destroy You

4. The Binding Of Isaac Afterbirth +

The Binding of Isaac is also representing the brutal roguelike genre. Like FTL, no two playthroughs are the same, as rooms, enemies, treasure and bosses are different each time, and, of course, dying resets the game.

Isaac is particularly notable for its permadeath because of just how brutal it is, getting incredible luck one minute and then awful misfortune the next, but the reason it makes this list is because of the Afterbirth + expansion’s “Ultra Hard” challenge.

Like the name suggests, this challenge is a wee bit tricky. All enemies are powered up, curses befall you on each floor and health pickups are non-existent. Better pray hard to RNGesus for this one.
