Every time Medal of Honour release a new instalment, it's becomes more apparent the war shooter's best days are behind it. Three of the later entries, Airborne, Medal of Honor 2010, and Warfighter, were so woeful, it's hard to believe this is the same franchise Steven Spielberg created in 1999.

But it wasn't all bad. (Except Warfighter. That was a dumpster fire.)

Even though Airborne had its faults, many critics said it was worth purchasing, solely for the online features. In this multiplayer, you can choose to drop into the map as an Allied paratrooper. Alternatively, you can play as an Axis soldier, shooting at the enemy while they descend from above. The main campaign wasn't great, but Airborne's multiplayer was a definite highlight of the series.

Sadly, that's all coming to an end, since EA have announced the termination of Medal of Honor's servers this year. As frustrating as this news is, you can't really blame them. Save for the VR spinoff, Above and Beyond, MoH has been dormant for the last decade.

In situations like this, gamers should normally try to be positive, hoping the series has better luck next time. But with Medal of Honor's future very much in question, it's hard to tell if there's going to be a next time.
