10 Video Games You Didn't Realise Nobody Finished

7. Alien Isolation

Lauded as being one of the most genuinely terrifying titles ever released, 2014's Alien: Isolation not only stands as a great game, but arguably amongst the best Xenomorph stories since the release of the 1979 original film in the franchise.

Designed to resemble the dark, claustrophobic feel of Ridley Scott's timeless classic, the game is a true survival horror thrill ride. Featuring an invincible Xenomorph constantly stalking the player-controlled Amanda Ripley, Eleanor's daughter, the game asks players to make use of stealth and exploration to evade capture and conjure up enough distractions to make it through various parts of the ship.

Unlike other survival horror games that can sometimes have a bad case of the arcade feel about them, Alien: Isolation features an extensive campaign that can take roughly 25 hours to complete. Despite being an acclaimed story and boasting some of the smoothest and well-polished bits of mechanics in the genre, roughly only 15% of players have actually made it all the way to the end of Isolation.

Compare that to fellow survival horror game Resident Evil VII: Biohazard at around 40%, and you have an indication that the story might have just been a little on the long side.

Either that or the game was literally just too scary for most people to finish.
