10 Video Games You Should Play (Even Though They Suck)

8. Zelda II: The Adventures Of Link

The Adventures of Link is unanimously regarded as the worst that The Legend of Zelda has to offer. (The abominations on the Philips CD-i don't count.)

Criticisms towards this sequel often boil down to a single argument - It doesn't resemble The Legend of Zelda. Not only is Zelda II the only instalment that's primarily a side-scroller, the experience points system made it feel more like an RPG.

But Zelda's first follow-up shouldn't be left in the gutter. It was the first Zelda game to incorporate a Magic Meter, which has become a staple in Nintendo's beloved franchise.

Unlike its predecessor, the world map is well-structured, meaning you won't be running in circles for hours on end. Even though The Adventures of Link has a ton of hack-and-slash sections, it relies more on interacting with characters to obtain special items and reach inaccessible areas, rather than stabbing everything you see.

I mean, it's still the worst Zelda title. (You can't save, even though you could in the first game. What's up with that?) But for all its flaws, The Adventures of Link doesn't deserved the hate it's sustained for the last 30+ years.
