10 Ways FIFA Has Gotten WORSE With Every Year

Over the last few years FIFA has been one of the biggest growing games in the Esports industry, but despite this, there have been many problems for competitive players.

The series is now aimed almost entirely at people playing Ultimate Team and in particular Weekend League. The drive towards competition means FIFA is designed for winning at all costs. That environment does not lead to good gameplay and for causal players it could put them off the series.

In 2020 Esports is growing at a huge rate, but even for professional players the current set up is not an enjoyable one. The main competitive mode is Weekend League where players have to grind every weekend to play 30 games, down from 40. The best players then play huge qualifying tournaments which give them a very slim chance of winning a place at a major offline event.

This all takes place on inconsistent servers which can disconnect leading to unpreventable losses.

If Esports is the way forward for the series it needs to be done right, as each year it is moving further away from gameplay for casual players.
