10 Ways Nintendo Dropped The Ball At E3 2018

8. Pikmin 4 (Or A Port Of 3) Wasn't Anywhere

We all get it, Nintendo. Pikmin has a great reputation yet struggles to sell: the very definition of a cult classic. So it's not the kind of game you go around beating your chest about at E3. But a nearly three years ago, Shigeru Miyamoto himself said that the game - perhaps Pikmin 4 - was making progress.

Meanwhile, we're still left waiting for the 3DS spin-off, Hey! Pikmin to be released.

2013 feels like a long time ago for Pikmin fans when the last game hit the failing Wii U. Given that we've seen ports of Captain Toad and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze to Switch, some observers thought a port of Pikmin 3 was a given. And yet, no announcement.

It's not as if the controls are a problem, either. The Joy-Con motion controls make respawning in Splatoon 2 a snip. Those same motion controls can definitely take the place of screen and stylus from Wii U, or remote pointer from the Wii Remote.

Make it happen, Nintendo! It's easy money.
