10 Ways Nintendo Switch Can Absolutely Dominate In 2018
3. Decide What's Happening With Pokemon Switch
This particular rumour has been around almost as long as the first reporting on the Switch when it was still called the NX.
Confusion still reigns about the status of Pokemon on Switch, however. Some say gamers will be treated to an upgraded version of Pokemon Moon and Sun, called Pokemon Stars. Others have said there's no way the 3DS titles will be ported and dream of the day a sequel to Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness gets its deserved time in the spotlight.
Nintendo itself is partly to blame here, not least because of the mass market confusion over Pokemon Go being a Pokemon Company/Niantic piece of software, but also because of the fact it was Nintendo themselves who announced a unification of handheld and console software development staff way back in 2013 to speed up development lead times and ensure the Wii and Wii U droughts didn't occur again.
Overlaps such as Super Mario 3D Land/SM3D World and Mario Kart 8 becoming portable with DX show Nintendo are embracing this home console/portable play split and breaking down boundaries. Pokken Tournament DX is fine, and Pokemon Sun/Moon are amazing. But Pokemon on Switch? Aloha!
