10 Ways Nintendo Switch Has Already Beaten The Wii U
3. VR Support Is Possible
Nintendo is the only major player in gaming hardware yet to put its VR cards on the table.
The Big N appears to be biding its time on this front, lying in wait as the likes of PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift find their virtual feet in a rapidly developing market.
It’s safe to assume the Wii U would struggle to deliver high-end VR experiences (just take a look at the PC specs Oculus demands) but the door to immersive new worlds is very much open for the Switch.
Although Nintendo has announced nothing concrete on this front, or indeed confirmed any plans to dabble in VR, a recent interview with company president Tatsumi Kimishima yielded some interesting comments on the subject.
He told Bloomberg that virtual reality experiences on Switch “might be possible in the future” once Nintendo has established whether VR is a market it wants to expand into.
Intriguing.
