1. The Nintendo Factor
It's a long shot, and nobody is saying that the Wii U is going to clamber out of the ashes and rush to first place, but if we've learned anything over the years as gamers, it's never to count the little guy out. Nintendo went from comparable modesty with the GameCube to sales juggernaut with the Wii, and though the Wii U is currently regarded by most as an abject failure, it's still early days. We're still waiting for the big-hitters, the Zeldas, the Marios, the Super Smash Bros. and so on to get released, and once they hit stores next year, you can be damned sure the Wii U's sales will start steadily rising, even if much of the damage has already been done. While there's little likelihood of the Wii U besting either the PS4 or the One, Nintendo may begin to establish themselves once again as a legitimate contender in the console war next year, which creates just another obstacle for Sony as they try to reclaim the #1 spot they held so dominantly during the earlier days of the PlayStation. Who do you think will win the console war? Will the PS4 fail? Let us know in the comments below.
