7. Microsoft Drops The Price Of The Xbox One
One of the big selling points for the PS4 over the Xbox One is the price; when kids are asking their parents to buy them a next-gen console for Christmas, cost is the focal issue to most, and as such, the PS4, which runs £80 less than the Xbox One, is naturally the far more attractive option. For the cost of an Xbox One unit, you can buy a PS4 with two games, and in a time of supposed austerity, the price point is an extremely important one. Still, as Microsoft have done with their console policies, it would be easy for them to reduce the price of the One before launch to fall in line with the PS4. Of course, this may not happen for fear of sending Microsoft spiraling into financial freefall, but if Microsoft wants to take a huge "all or nothing" gamble, then this is probably the way to do it; match Sony's price or, better yet, undercut them slightly.
