10 Ways The PS4 Could Still Fail

5. Microsoft Plays The Long Game

One majorly important thing for Sony is to remember past console wars; we're all aware how Sony lagged behind massively at the start of the last console war, but they managed to find firm footing in the end and began pulling in respectable figures alongside the Wii and 360. Sony need a mounted plaque of the PS3's various failures as news headlines, to remind them not to get complacent, as would be easy given how categorically Microsoft seem to be tripping over their own shoelaces. Microsoft, however, will be needing to play the long game at this stage, and though Sony must also, the console's likely initial lead over the Xbox One should not cause them to celebrate prematurely. If the PS3 managed to get back in the running after a PR disaster not too dissimilar to the Xbox One's, then the One can certainly claw itself back from oblivion (as it already seems to be making steps to).
