1. Space-Age 'Metroid Link'

Nintendo continue to play with all our collective emotions when it comes to delivering another Metroid (and not in the sense of Federation Force). As such, at some point Link was done up to fit more in-line with a 'space marine' aesthetic, replete with Half-Life headcrab companion and Triforce-embossed breathing equipment.

Obviously this would've been about as tough a sell as the 'casual stoner Link' we saw earlier, seeing as - providing this wasn't sketched entirely as a joke - his 'hat' looks more like a wanton alien lifeform suctioned onto the side of his helmet.
