10 Ways Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Was Almost Completely Different

9. A More Westernised, 'Skyrim-Style' Link

Like some of the bulkiest fan-art out there, it seems Nintendo too toyed with the idea of making an entirely westernised Link - more so than that of Twilight Princess, anyway.

To that end, we've got a more domineering pose, face paint, a beard, and what appears to only be one arm. The latter would've admittedly brought a really cool new dimension to the character, seeing Nintendo design a number of new or slightly altered animations to account for this new sense of weight distribution - not to mention how he would've wielded a shield in tandem with that sword.

Whenever a game studio attempt to completely change a character, it's always important to think on whether they're going too far away from that core ethos, where it's not even the character anymore.

Naughty Dog turned back from their initial design of a 'real-world Jak & Daxter', but it would've been interesting to see how this 'westernised take' on Link was been received.
